Women’s water polo wins five of six over break

The Aggies went5-1over spring break,knocking off three teams ranked in the top20nationally in the process. The team was led by senior Lindsay Kiyama,who tallied13goals in the six-game stint.Sophomore DakotahMohr added10goals and30exclusions.
Women’s rowing splits with Aztecs

The UC Davis women’s rowing team finished its spring break of training by resuming its regular season to host San Diego State on Sunday. The Aggies‘ varsity eight picked up a close win on the2,000-meter course,finishing in a time of6:53.47to narrowly beat out the Aztecs‘ time of6:54.51.
UCD professors work on genetically enhanced goats

UC Davis professors are partnering with scientists in Brazil to genetically alter goats in an effort to combat dangerous childhood diarrhea. UC Davis animal science professors Elizabeth Maga and James Murray with the help of married UCD alumni Marcelo and Luciana Bertonlini,will alter goats‘ milk will help children in Brazil fight diarrheal diseases.

The UC Davis Symphony Orchestra gets a new conductor this fall

After serving for30years as conductor of the UC Davis symphony orchestra,D.Kern Holoman haspassed the baton to a new face.After an international search,Christian Baldini has been named the new symphony conductor. Baldini is scheduled to make his conducting debut on June2as the symphony orchestra ends its current season.He will join the UC Davis faculty on July1as an assistant professor in the music department.
